RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY
A MEMOIR BY BRETT PATTERSON
“Even in the belly of the beast, where hope was meant to wither and die, there were moments—small, stubborn, defiant—where something decent, something real, refused to be snuffed out.”
— RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY
we shape some memories. the unforgettable ones shape us.
Once he had the world at his fingertips, a young Australian lived a life at full throttle, defined by the chaotic energy of the music and technology industries, and the unbreakable bond of his friends. But a life of high-speed pursuits unravels in a New York courtroom, leading to the brutal reality of Rikers Island. Now, as the clock ticks, he must embark on a gripping and powerful journey into the human condition, piecing together a shattered past to escape the jail he's in—and the prison of his mind.
Who I aM
Once, I lived a fast paced life—an Australian footballer chasing adventure through the chaotic tech and music industries. Then, a crisis on the streets of New York brought it all crashing down, landing me in the brutal reality of Rikers Island.
My memoir, Random Access Memory, is a raw and unvarnished account of that journey. It is my search for the truth inside a fragmented past, a fight to escape the deepest jail of all: the one in my mind.
